The complete renovation of this Brooklyn townhouse involved restoring to a single family residence a home that had been for decades divided into two apartments.  The desire to create a light filled and entirely open and unobstructed living area required a redesign of the house’s original floor plans and major structural modifications to create a new loft-like parlor level.  The renovation also included a restored and reconstructed main stair, all new plumbing and electrical systems, replacement of windows and a new rear deck and extensive landscaping of the rear yard.

In addition to the living/dining space at the parlor level are garden level bedrooms and a master bedroom suite at the second story.  A new kitchen and bathrooms complete the renovation. Modern materials and detailing complement the original features of this mid-nineteenth century townhouse that has been adapted to the needs of contemporary family life.
